4th Generation Diy Seafoam Gen4 With Pics

Okay well i looked around on here and i didnt find a ton of info on how to seafoam so i thought i would take my time and make a quick little diy for all the supern00bs out there like i am.

ps sorry for the bad photoshoping =P

Okay well for all you who aren't too sure about seafoam and how to use it correctly this is for you. I didnt some research on it and had read some good things and so i decided to go about it and do it myself. From my results it does improve acceleration and gas mileage and idles a little bit better.

Step One is make sure your car is warm drive it around for a little while get the temp up on the car. Then you go about parking the car open up the hood on your little jap monster. Locate your brake booster and follow the rubber hose to the engine.

Next thing you want to do is disconnect the rubber hose, it should come off pretty easy

The hose should move around easily, Now open your bottle of seafoam and pour 1/3 into a cup and turn on your car. Take the hose and put it in the cup and SLOWLY suck up the seafoam, Your car will act like its going to stall so pull the hose out and give it a second. And continue this until the seafoam in the cup is gone, If your car shuts off during this just turn it back on asap. Now that the 1/3 of the can has been sucked up turn your car off and add another 1/3 into the oil

And add the rest of the can into your gas tank, Let the car sit there for 10 minute and start it back up. Give it a second and start to rev it. If you havent done any research on it then you will be expecting smoke, lots of smoke. Keep on reving the car 3,000-5,000 rpm. Take the car for a drive and drive it hard for about 50 miles.
Bring the car home then or to the oil change shop and change the oil and oil filter.

You will notice some improvement over before. I know its simple but i thought id do this for all the people who were a little worried about it. If something needs fixing just let me know. Thanks =P

I change the exaust gasket between the manifold and the downpipe last month and the bolt became loose even if in torque it the harder I can. So this weekend, before seafoaming, I put blue locktite on the bolts and retorque them to solve the leak.

If I just changed the spark plugs, is it a bad idea to seafoam?
