I pulled off that hose the other day because I saw the clamp wasnt on it properly, I saw oil around the outside of it, what is this hose and what is it for etc?

no, brake booster line connects to the back passenger side of that engine on the upper plenum.

I agree with JJJ this is a breather hose. Some oil on it is normal, but if it's excessive, replace the hose with new. Just get some generic hose from the auto parts store for a buck or so and you'll be good.

Yep, it looks like the breather hose for the PCV valve. If you want to check to see if your pcv valve is working, take the breather hose off and stick your finger over the pcv hole. If there's vacuum in there then your valve is working, if not replace the valve
