Engine Oil

What brand of oil would recommend for 1996 Camry 2.2 L
My brother gave he his car, he used Shell oil and fram tough guard filters or the regular ones(both).
I like Castrol OIL, But I use anyting on sale.
Is 10w30 ok? or use 5w30?, has like 107,000 miles
What is the part # for Toyota Filters?
I do not like Fram.

Toyota oil filter Part Number: 90915-YZZF2

Oil type used in southern oklahoma is Mobil And Valvoline Brand 5W-30. My personal Vehicle uses Valvoline 10w-40 on a '99 with less than 30k miles.

The recommended oil is printed on the oil cap. If it's like my 96 2.2L, it should be 10W-30. As for oil filters, you can get them from the dealership. I buy purolator PureONE filters.

Any oil that meets factory specs will do just fine.

miles does NOT determine weight ... so many people think that their "high mileage" cars need to run 10W30 because its heavier

no - all this means is you know you have leaks but are too cheap to fix them - or too cheap to run a high-mileage oil that has additive packages that stop leaks

Fram makes garbage oil filters, mobil1 is the best (and K&N which are made by mobil1), pureONE is good too.

For oil use synthetic 5w30, mobil1 is great but expensive, castrol and Shell Syntec are great oils as well.
