I have a small question about struts and spring.

I would like to know which is the front and which is for the rear? The shorter struts are for the front and the longer struts are for the rear right?

Just making sure.

for struts, i believe the longer ones are for the front. but no 2 are alike so only the front right strut will fit in the front right spot and no where else. as for springs the larger ones go in the gront to hold the extra weight of the motor. the rears are narrower.

most OE and aftermarket has all that marked on the part. may i inquire why you ask?

Yes, the longer ones are the front and the shorter ones are the back. BUT you can't switch the front ones nor the back! Each strut has a different corner because it has a tab on each of them to connect the brake cable.

Thank you for the reply!

I was lowering my car with my brother this afternoon and I just wanted to be sure.
We also ran into some problems. Will try again later with a breaker bar.

I have another question. On the 3.5 gen camry, is it possible to remove the spring without a spring compressor? Or do I need to get one.

I would like to lower my Camry this weekend. I wasn't too prepared last time. Broke two wrenches trying to remove one of the struts!. @_@

oh, please don't try to remove the spring without spring compressor, and dont' use a cheap spring compressor, or you will see the strut nut flying out like speedy bullet, may hurt yourself or others around you, or cars.
