Take a good look at the intake hose, there may be a tear in it. If you could, have someone sit in the car and reeve it for you so that you could listen where the whistling is coming from.
Take your hand run it through out the hose, feel for cracks and tears. Squeeze the rubber to see if it bounces back and still feels flexible to the touch.
