thats pretty cool. dont know anyone who has done it though. however, unless you have a need for large diameter (2.5" +) exhaust then there really wouldnt be much point cept being able to change the volume. which in itself would be cool but not 400 beans cool.

but I think I'd rather get an electronic cut-out right before the cat...then you may as well just run stock piping and a stock exhaust after that!

I don't get the remote... If you have to wire the 12volts anyways, why can't you install a dash mounted switch? It would be more reliable, maybe even safer (then going thru your keys searching for the good remote when aproaching a police car.), but more importantly, it would be much less expensive!

this whole idea revolves around the cool factor. a remote...cool. a dash switch....not cool.

There is a similar system for the Z06 Corvette. The vet bi-modal exhaust vacuum operated.

what would be better would be if it was RPM activated. that way you have some back pressure down low and then wide open in higher revs.

I believe the muffler(s) on the 5th Gen (00-03) Maximas had a feature like this.
