3rd & 4th Generation (1992–1996 & 1997–2001)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 1992-1996 & 1997-2001
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
I'm biased since i'm the one selling the ground controls, but i do like them. only reason i'm selling is because the camry is the family wagon, and the miata is the race car... and the ground controls are too stiff for having an infant in the car - i don't want to risk giving the kid shaken baby syndrome! Since the baby won't ever be in the miata (not till it's at least big enough for a booster seat, and maybe even later than that) i will keep the hard suspension stuff limited to just the miata.
ground control coilover sleeves use Eibach springs which are some of the best springs money can buy - they even have a million mile warranty. who knows what the ebay sleeves you saw use for springs, but for under $100 i'm pretty sure they aren't eibach!
but yes, no matter what kind of coilover sleeve you get, you really should get some upgraded struts because the higher spring rate of the upgraded springs will kill stock struts in no time, especially if you go really low with the adjustable perches.

yes Im planning to get KYB shocks if I decide to go with this setup because Im planning to go pretty low.
if you're planning to go low, then go with tokicos. the kybs only hold up to mild drops 1-1.5" drops or so. beyond that, they aren't stiff enough to keep you from bottoming out, and given time, they will blow and leak

yeah...better safe than sorry when it comes to slamming your car
a lot of ppl with lower drops have complained about their kybs blowing in a year or two. I rode on my kybs for a good 5 years before I traded them away (still in great condition) because they were just paired with eibach springs - 1"-1.5" drop
