don't do it. Look for lugnuts that will fit these rims, you want a good solid fit.

Pics would be nice...my studs barely protrude through the TRD rims, so I bought OEM lugs and that fixed it.

If you can go three turns on the lug, you should be safe, but I'd check them often!

Try lug nuts that go deeper....they are available (shoulder is longer than normal). You have more tread to grab with. Just bought a set at Advance Auto, did not work for me, so am returning it. The shoulder was too deep, it was bottoming out. Trying to install a Lexus 5 spoke GS300 rim to a 98 Camry. Good luck with yours. Pics good, post them!

If you're trying to use the lugnuts for steel rims to hold alloy rims, they are very different. The alloy lugnuts have a threaded part that fits into the hole in the rim about 3/4", and a washer that sits in the recess of the rim around the stud. The steel rim nuts have a simple cone shape that goes into the steel rim hole, and will not work with alloys.

If this isn't your problem, have fun pressing out 20 studs and pressing in longer ones...but I can't see this being correct unless the new rims you have weren't meant for your car in the first place.

^^ Right. The lug nuts on the steelies are ball type and the ones for the AL wheels (like in V6 options or Lexus ES300) are flat MAG type (with washer).

Right on the money!

3 turns, yes by design, 3 treads should give you the force required to create the friction between the mating surfaces to HOLD the wheels.

Currently have a 3.5 95 2.2 set up with the 5 spoke 16” GS300 Lexus wheels. Had to put in a 5 mm spacers to free up the caliper in the front and stop the rubbing of the rears on the shocks.

Because of this, I have to mount the wheels using a modified lug nut that centers the wheels, then I install the normal lug nuts. Spacer prevents the wheel to mate with hub (as in hub-centric).

Now, I am trying to do this on a 98 2.2 Camry for a firend, which turns out have the same basic design as my 3.5 gen.
