ok im kinda sick of the shifter in my 94 it looks like a mangled donkey.....aneyway i want to put a 4runner auto shifter in its place i mean it cant be too diffrent right? has aneone done this or somthing simalar?

i have replace the auto shifter before with aftermarket ones, definatly looked better but im not sure if the 4runner one will fit right. cant say that anyone has done that though.

So what do you do about the overdrive switch when you change the shifter in an auto? Do you just have it on all the time?

well im not going to screw around with the trans the 4runner/tacoma has an overdrive switch witch im guessing probly hooks up to the same kind of harness

actually, the shifter in the camry is just a simple two-wire connection. complete circuit, OD is off. open circuit, OD is on. it'd be really simple to relocate it to a simple toggle switch and put it right below the ECT button.

i dont really have a pic. but it was just a liek APC aluminum shifter from an auto store. i just made another switch for the OD and relocated it.
