99 Camry Passenger Side Mirror Replacement - Toyota Nation Forum : Toyota Car and Truck Forums

Alright, well I bought a passenger side mirror replace since my old one has broke. I popped out the triangular piece and see that the wire runs down to the side panel. I do not want to mess with the car by opening the side panel, neither do I have the time. My idea is to solder the old cable and the new cable from the new mirror. Is this a good alternative? Is there anything else I can do without opening the side panel?

you should be able to just unplug it

Hey, thanks for the reply.

Can you explain this further? As I can see, the plug is all the way down in the side panel, and is too long to pull out.

the power mirror plug should be in the mirror housing. when you remove the bolts that hold the mirror and place, take out the mirror and you should see the plug.

This does not work, the plug goes deep down into the side panel...

Well anyways, I just finished the job. Took about an hour, soldered everything in and is working like new. Didn't have to open side panel

I could probably do it in half time if I had to do it again.

Yeah the plug isnt a big deal, I just took out one of the screw in the panel and i was able to get it out pretty easy. 15 min job max to replace a mirror on a camry.
