Procrastinating, amusing pic, serious questions

So I put off for a little longer that deep creeping the throttle body I asked about mid-winter, and now the intake hose that I knew would need to be replaced when I pulled it has two major cracks causing what I believe to be vacuum leaks and instant stallage, so I got towed home today. Guess the wife will HAVE to let me spend some duckets on the pieces to go CAI now

So...3 months or 6 before I HAVE to replace the dogbone?

While I was pulling off my cracked up air intake hose, I saw this. Is this a leaky head gasket (or something equally frightening, if I'm naming the wrong part)?



Or is that just accumulated spillage?

That is the valve cover gasket, and possibly the distributor o-ring, not the head gasket.

Could that be leaking oil? Is that a particularly difficult job to change?

Either can leak oil and will be easier, and less expensive or time consuming, than a leaking head gasket.
