Canada 94 Camry V6 to 4 CYL SWAP?

Is this do able? What does this entail? Has anyone successfully accomplished this?

There are so many 4 bangers and hardly any V6's in my area...

I am mechanically inclined, but I am also new to Toyota. Any advice, info, etc... that you have would be greatly appreciated.

I have swapped out motors in Hondas over the years, i'm just not familiar enough with Toyota yet to know.....

For the guy that said "there's something messed up in the water in canada...." Not a very bright guy. You Americans share the same water. I didn't come here to argue, I came for some genuine help.

Cheers

Should be similiar here with the honda motors. As long as the cam came with the v6 model you might only need to swap subframes, and mounts etc.

Check it out in the search though, this topic has been covered multiple times

Very true. I come across way more 4's than the v6's. Why do you need to switch it though? Have you thought of just switching it with a v6 imported from Japan? Just had mine replaced actually and is running great! Has about 60,000km's on it. Running smooth and clean.

Canada

That's my whole question... There aren't many of these kicking around at teh scrapyards, but there are plenty of the 4 bangers.... What did ya pay @ The Jap store? $1000? I don't want to spend that much, hence, the 4 banger swap probability....

Engine and parts were about $900+labour. The redid the seals [like rear main/oil covers, etc etc] Runs great, after a couple weeks oil is clean as can be still and no leaks. Really happy with it. My mechanic is really good. Only thing still left to do is customizing the oil pressure switch to add in a sensor for my pressure guage.

what happened to the V6 that would warrant such a swap?? its doable but will be alot of work and likely as much as rebuilding a V6 motor...if it can be rebuilt. best solution was said. swapping the whole subframe would be easiest.

It's why I got the new engine. Blew the crankshaft Not worth rebuilding. Cheaper usually getting a good low mileage jdm engine. As for getting an engine here, I've not found one worth it. Usually from what I have seen a lot higher mileage than a jdm.
