GR2 issues

I posted this in the suspension section also, just wanted some input from us gen 3 owners also.

Ok so first of all I have been running kyb gr2's on my camry for the past two years. First thing that still bothers me to this day is: Do all gr2's come painted silver or do they come in black also? My rears are silver, my fronts are black.
Second, after two years, the fronts are junk. I can raise the front end off the ground, and pull up on the tire and compress the struts, blown already, whatta crock.
Third, can i install the cartridges from tokico hp? Hopefully so, if that is possible, please let me know. Thanks.

Hmm, all of mine are silver/gray. It's been about 3 years since these were installed, and everything is fine except for the squeaking strut mounts.

my KYB GR2 were black in front and silver in rear, they were for my 94 camry V6 LE, and even though it was aftermarket strut, they are still serviceable strut, there is a big nut in the middle of the strut to turn loose, then drain all the old oil out and remove the insert strut, what i did also, was install the tokico HP cartridge inserts on the KYB GR2 housing, and now works fine just like a tokico HP

Silver all the way around here!

I haven't had a bit of trouble with them.

Thats so messed up that some have black front and silver rears while others have silver all the way around. Oh well, if paycheck is ok friday, looks like I will be picking up Solley's tokico HP inserts. (and a few other goodies.)

Hmm, I guess I'll consider those Tokico HP inserts if my KYB's wear out. Let us know how it goes.
