Fan ID

'98 6 cyl Camry.

The 2 cooling fans mounted on the rad.

Is the passenger side one the condenser fan and the drivers side the Rad fan?

My fan on the pass side is making some noise that make me think it's on it's way out and want to make sure I am using the right name when making calls for a replacement.

Thanks

Yup, passenger side is the condenser fan.

Might be able to save a bit just replacing the fan motor...I think that's about the only thing that can wear out (barring cracked plastic).

Thanks.

Any yard I've contacted only does the full assembly.

And what I see for new (not oem) motors the price difference between just the motor and the whole shabang might be worth the time savings.

The parts store by me sell Dorman fans. Anyone know anything about them?

Oh and does anyone know if one out of a 2000 or 2001 Solara would fit the camry? I haven't had a chance to get to the yard that has the Solara to take a look.

Thanks again

Dorman's just your typical Chinese-made aftermarket stuff. Personally, I'd rather go with a junkyard pull.

IIRC, the 2000/2001 Solara's pretty much had the same mechanicals as the Gen4 Camry. Real good chance they'll match up with your rig.

Thanks. I'm heading to my local yard Sat to see the Solara fan. My hope is that it will be good. The Dorman is the "#&*%#@*ing Solara fan doesn't match" plan.

Thanks for the help.
