how do you retrieve codes for a 95? do they sell a scanner for this?

The scanner port is in the driver kick panel... If you car is running the 1MZ-FE V6 engine, then it is DEFINITLY OBD-II certified, and autozone does free code readings. I'm unsure about the 4 cylinder model thought cause I don't own one... Just make sure you remove the panel before going there.... If's it's OBD-I some shops may do the reading, but you'd be better off just getting the scanner for future use both ways(that's what I ended up doing, since mine is OBD-II certified).

IIRC, you've got the 5S-FE (4 banger). See http://www.camrystuff.com/manuals/Gen3/eg1.pdf page 297. Use an unbent paperclip to jumper the test terminals.
