You can get the bulbs from the dealer...or at superbrightleds.com im sure other places sell them too....they are called Neo-wedge bulbs, atleast thats what superbrightleds.com calls them....

remove the U shaped trim panel around your stereo.

remove two screws there, and the two screws where your gauge cluster is

disconnect all the wires, and remove the dash trim.

remove the 2? or 4? screws around the themo controls (some screws are under the knobs, so pull them off)

remove the tension cable from the slider (if you have the slider)

pull the clip to release the AC button

unscrew the bulb, and replace it....

hi sk8ersublime/vi3tnamesekidd,

i got a simular situation with the a/c and the rear demister button on also a Gen 3, bulbs are blown, taken both a/c and rear dim. buttons out of the dash and unscrewed the little bulbs out.

i took it to Toyota (they said they cant get any in until a week ), do you happen to know the size/type of these bulbs on superbrightleds.com.

Apologies, i cant drill it down on the website on which particular bulbs are gonna fit in the buttons. Tried looking at other threads for the specifications with no luck.

Appreciate the Help.

Regards,

Dennis.

I was able to bring the bulbs into my local parts store, the guys there were able to match them up with $0.50 generics, instead of the $5 dealer bulbs

the ones for general illumination are size 74 which you can get at any auto parts store. the tiny bulbs inside the push buttons you can get from radio shack. if you do a search you'll find 48756349875624765 threads about this.
