suspension rattle/knocking sound

So I've ran a search and found some threads but not sure if its the same thing I'm getting.

Basically, when driving in the city and going over manholes, bumps etc, the suspension seems to make this kind of knock knock knock sound... almost like a ratle knocking sound.

I've replaced all 4 struts/coils/strut mounts last weekend.. Replaced with Munroe Quick struts.. Which I highly recommend btw.

Can anyone help me isolate if this sound is the swaybar end link or sway bar bushings?

Appreciate the help.

Like you said, if the noise is coming from the rear suspension, its going to be either the end links or the RSB bushings. Did you use new upper mounts for the struts?

Yes it is. I had some life issues needing taken care of and only way was to drop a lot of things for a time. But well I'm back might not be as active as I was but I'm here.

As for the noise he didn't say it was the rear. But if it is coming from there I'd cheak the sway bar. Mainly the bolts and the closest bushings.
It could also be the tye rods or lower ball joints if its coming from the front.

My car has/had the same problem. I think they all do. Exactly like you described with the rattling and knock knock sound.
I changed the back struts, it doesn't make the noise as often but it is still there. But a little bit of noise on such a old car doesn't worry me.

I don't think the end links would make that loud of a noise, possibly the bushings though.

Make sure the strut mount is tighten all the way to proper torque specs.

Sometimes it's the strut bearing plate that's underneath the strut mount itself.

Are you sure its not the exhaust that came off a hanger possibly and is knocking into the chasis?
