TN mechanics i need you help

ok so i have a 98 camry approaching 200k ..... and it seems that i cannot re start my car after turning it off wit out it sputtering if or me having to give it gas if it hasnt been an hour or so. i did some searching and i thought it was the IAC valve so i took that throttlebody apart and cleaned it (followed the DIY from here) and still nothings changed what do you guys think?

Your IAC valve should be fine... I'm guessing you have a 1MZ V6? The only time I had to clean my IAC valve on my 3VZ was when I had sporadic idling problems... looks like it wasn't getting the air it needed.

How long until you need to take your foot off the throttle? It runs fine after it's started and running I'm guessing?

Maybe just getting the fuel to pump through to the injectors is taking the time...

How about starting warm?

Hm... weird.

Unless you have a problem with fuel getting to the engine (pump, filter, injectors etc) then you shouldn't have that happen.

Has it happened before, or once only?

I'm no mechanic, but I'd first be looking at the fuel pump (under rear seats normally) or the fuel pump. It doesn't explain why the car works fine after an hour though. One of the other lads will know

How well has the car been maintained? Air filter, plugs that sort of deal.

Try getting some electronic parts cleaner from an autozone and cleaning the maf sensor.
