Knock sensor relocation

Tonythetiger (Tony??) said relocating the knock sensors can help if you think your engine is pulling timing. Used a timing light and.. yep. I ran a buncha tests and the resistance coming off one was whack. So I bought a new one from rockauto. From reading a few threads here and there I believe the best way to deal with a busted up sensor is just buy a new one, leave the other two under the intake where they normally are, and wire up the new one with both the other harnesses. < Correct me if Im wrong.

Did a search but didnt come up with anything, just wondering how some of you have done this.

Thanks.

its a 99 avalon...unless he changed cars.

is the car running poorly? if not and your just looking for a little hp gain then it may help a little, ive seen discussions whether N/A relocation can help performance because of the sensors sensitivity. but the second gen 1mz has less sensitive knock sensors then the gen1. that way will work, you jsut have to make sure the sensor is grounded to the motor(^learned that from this guy^).

thers also more info about this on solaraguy, where more FI activity is.
