4th Generation ABS Problem, to fix or not to fix?

I bought the car with ABS light on. So I went to check what's wrong to the dealership.
The dealership diagnosed that the ABS actuator needs to be replaced, and the price for that is $4200 CAN.
I don't have that much money, and I wouldn't pay this amount if I could.

Is there any other way to fix this problem. May be I can buy the actuator and try to put it myself? How much would the part cost?

Or may be choose alternative solution:
1. Forget about ABS and just remove bulb from dashboard light, so I don't see it. Will the malfunctioning abs eventually do damage to some other parts.
2. Remove ABS from the car. What is the process of doing that?

I don't think anyone is going to advise to remove ABS system. I did a small search for remanufactured and found this:

Looks like they want to quote rather than post price. Maybe try wrecker as well. I'd get a second opinion. Did dealership quote separate parts and labor?

Alright, so the best option would be to buy part online and install it myself, or may be give it to mechanic to install.

I have traction control on my car. Do I need ABS actuator with TRAC or without TRAC?
