my 95 has 96 engine???

Did all the 95's come with a pre-cat or is it because it was made late in '95? If this pre-cat ever messes up, can i just stick an OBDII 49-state cat somewhere close to original location rfor it to pass smog? Thanks.

I've had 2 1996 cars, other brand, that never had these pre-cats.

Is this a 5S-FE (4-banger)? Every gen3 5S-FE I've run across has two cats -- the "warm-up" cat (up in the engine compartment), and the "regular" cat, under the car. AFAIK, there's no diff between the Cali versions and the non-Cali versions of the cats.

OTOH, I've yet to see a gen3 6-banger with more than one cat.
