Rounded Bolt - Intake Plenum

Hi

Was going to replace my 3VZFE's rocker cover gasket and got stuck on 1 Allen type bolt. It was stripped before I even started so the previous owner tried removing it before.

How do I remove this bolt now that I cant use an allen key to undo it.

File the sides to make a flat area for a spanner?

One of the bolt was extremely tight but got it off anyway.

Im worried even if I file the sides it might just as well round off being too tight.

Any suggestions?

Easy-out/left hand drill bit, hammer and punch(hit on a tangent on the side of the allen bolt), cold chisel are the first few i'd try, not particularly in that order.

easy-out/bolt extractors are worth their weight in gold. if you dont want to buy that set, i also have much sucess taking my grinder and making a slot on the head then using a large screw driver to unscrew.

I just used a dremel last year and slowly cut the head off it, lol.

But yeah, try an extractor 1st.
