3rd & 4th Generation (1992–1996 & 1997–2001)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 1992-1996 & 1997-2001
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
Ok, I have a 92 Camry, I know alot of people say you cant make them racey, But I want to try.
I have a few questions:
1) Which motors can you swap into a 92 V6 LE Body (Please suggest something that will be fun, and possibly easy to tune)
2) Where can I find parts, I cant find ANY performance parts.
3) Where can I find Halo Projector (angel eye) headlights?
4) Can you suggest what to change in it.
Thank you very much, I will check this post when I get home from school
Lets say money isn't really an issue for parts (Just dont suggest a 15K motor..)
if you have the v6, then thats about the fastest motor that you can put in it. you can do a 3mz which is a 3.3 thats close to the same, but the wiring is different. or a 3sgte celica/mr2 motor, but thats a lotta custom work.
for the v6, about the only thing they have is intakes and obx headers, and for suspension k sport and d2 have coilovers, and there is the trd rear sway bar. i had a bookmark for cams, rods, and pistons, but i lost that when i had to reboot the computer from scratch. there is the trd supercharger, but youll have to find someone that is selling it, or you can fab your own custom turbo setup. but i would research those first. cant just slap on a turbo and expect it to work, let alone last. but in many TN'ers opinions, the best performance thing you can do is swap it to a manual, if its not already.
there are no projectors. you have to make your own.
suggestions: buy a faster car or swap it to a manual
sometimes people want to be different? Like me, i sold 2 prelude(1 si 1 dohc vtec), a crx and a da teg and im still doing more work to the camry then any of the ones i sold already.
To the op, Swap the motor to a 1mz, 5 sp conversion, and SC it.
Can't agree more on what's been chucked around here already...
Manual and V6 would be an awesome platform to start with. You'd be kidding yourself to think "hey lets me an Auto 4 banger go heaps quick"... yeah... ok. An Auto V6 is quick off the line, but everything else after that, will get it's arse handed to it if you were racing say, a Manual V6 Camry.
I'm yet to see a S/Ced 3VZFE... if anyone knows of one, please let me know!! *drools*
