need help: Car jerks when going around 80-100...

hi,

i have a 95 camry v6 coupe. when i am on the highway and going from 80-100, sometimes the car jerks. This is when the rpm is around 2000.

if i floor it, the car does not jerk. it jerks when im reducing speed from 100 to 80 and then have to gas again. when im acceralating straght from 60 to 100, it does not jerk. Only when i reduce speed to 80-100 and gas slowy around 2000 rpm.

I'm trying to explain this as best as possible.

I think it is my fuel pump.

Any help would be good...thanks!

Offhand, I'm not sure of the cause, but if it doesn't hesitate when being floored, then it's pretty unlikely to be the fuel pump.

I hope you mean Kilometers/hour not Miles/hour

If so, it may be your transmission looking for the right gear

yes..it is in kilometers.

when im driving around 100 kms and let go of gas till it goes back to 80km then gas, it jerks. during that time, shouldnt i still be in 4 gear? or is it trying to go back to 3rd gear ?

^^ as well.

Jerk as in accelerate jerk, or jerk as in de-accelerate jerk? Could be trans problem, not engine problem.
