Rear drum is rubbing against shield.

Where the arrows point it scraps with every rotation. It is bent because the other side has a proper even gap all around.

This is on a 97 camry I only want to make the scraping go away for now so I can drive it into storage.

Possible cause:
The wheels were hard(stuck) coming off. I kicked the wheel while it was lifted a few times. The car was sitting for 2 months. It could have already been bent but new rust may have now just caused it to make the scraping noise.

How will I rub it between the thin gap. How do I take the whole drum out to make it easier to sand?

Link? and tools I would need?

Yes it's the rust. As rust forms it actuall swells the metal a bit. Sanding may not be enough. You may have to remove the drum and use a file on the inside lip of the drum to remove the rust. You might also have to file or at least bend back that section of the backing plate. That is a heavy amount of rust. Incidently, it is scrapping against what is called the backing plate.

Thanks for the link. It would be easier to remove and sand it down. Thanks.
