Headers and Rotors Issues...

I went ahead and bought the mr2 headers and put em on my camry. Now I knew I'd have to customize the downpipe, but I never knew the alternator would be practically touching them! I was told it could burn out the circuitry of the alternator, so I bought some of that header wrap. Well Even after running the car for no more than a minute the alternator still gets fiery hot cause it is touching the wrap. So I thought about raising the alternator bracket and buying a longer belt. Thought I'd ask those that have installed these headers themselves and ask what they've done b4 I try to make any more mods.

And also... I bought a new set of drilled/slotted rotors with pads. After about 5 months they appear to be rusting pretty badly. I sprayed brake cleaner on them but it didn't take it off. Any Suggestions?

ive herd people have to do the MOST custom work with the MR2 headers...the celica and the newer 97+ headers are whats recommended now. if there is room...id have a shop fit ya a down pipe that will work.

as for the rotors...where did ya get them and what brand...the cheap ones will rust and warp pretty quick cuz they are low quality. personally id scrap them and get somthign that will actually improve braking...SS lines, good pads and brembo blanks.

they now have them for the 97+ IIRC and i dont think they need ANY modification.

brembo blanks are jsut OEM style rotors but very good quality. not drilled or slotted, stuff liek that is for racing and has no function or benifit(other then looking good) with all teh rest of the brake system stock.
