3rd Generation Need help troubleshooting vibration

Car Specs:
1992 V6 LE 4 Door Camry
150000 Miles

Recent maintenance:
Installed NGK Plugs, NGK wires and Arista Cap and Rotor
Cleaned Throttle body

Problem:
After not driving the camry for over a month or so, I started to get a vibration on the freeway when going 40MPH and 60 MPH. I did some reading on the forums and some say it might be related to tire balance / engine mounts. I don't believe this applies to my situation since I get the vibration only during acceleration. Decelerating at 40 or 60mph the vibration does not occur. In addition, the vibration seems to occur at 2100rpms with over drive on. If I turn off overdrive I don't get the vibration. Thus it seems that the gear and rpm is related. So this lead me to believe that it is engine related. I also had a check engine light code of 25 and 26. So I went ahead and installed the maintenance items mentioned above. What I found when removing the cap was that there was oil leaked in and covered one of the metal contacts. Thus, I thought this would totally fix the vibration and the check engine light since the the lack of contact results in no spark or not enough spark causing the engine to misfire. After replacing the maintenance items the check engine light turned off, but the vibration was still there. I changed oil and took a drive and now the check engine light came back on. So I am at a lost of where to look next and what to try. I read that maybe I should do a compression check, does anyone else have any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

Make sure there are NO vibrators anywhere in the car first.

I had this same problem... started vibrating when driving after hitting the pedal...

I'd double check that you plugged the leads into the plugs correctly and securely. I was firing on 5 cylinders for a couple of days... replaced the plugs and worked fine (well, reseated the front/right lead and came good... was just not goin well)

Even though you just installed the plugs, doesn't mean you shouldn't check them just to be sure mate.

Hey whip_cracker,
This problem was present with the old caps rotor and plugs as well as with the new caps rotor and plugs. But I will definitely double check the plugs.

did you check the axles? because I once had a problem when I accelerated around 60mph, a vibration occurred, so might want to check that.

I checked both axle boots and they aren't torn. Also it only happens when accelerating and when overdrive is on.

Both inside and outside boots?

How about the engine mounts, the inner CV joints or the steady bearing for the passenger side axle?

I just wanted to update this thread with my resolution. Took it to my father's mechanic. He was able to fix the problem. It was a bad fuel injector in the third cylinder. Replaced it and cleaned the others, it is as good as new. Thanks everyone for their input, I hope this helps someone else who was frustrated like I was.
