4th Generation Camry Xle V6 Brake Dilemma

Hi Friends,

I have a 1998 Toyota Camry XLE V6. My brakes have worn out. Actually I'm planning to replace only the front brakes and rotors this time as I do not have enough money. I will replace the rear brakes rotors later on. Can I do that? Or doing that would put uncessary high pressure on the front brakes?

replacing the fronts will be fine as they do most of the work anyway. as long as the rears aren't worn too much, you should be in good shape.

What he says.

I'f you're low on funds, you could also see if the old rotors can be turned and reused. If your old pads did not wear down to the backing plate, the rotors may even be reused without machining. Are both sides of the disc still smooth?
