3rd & 4th Generation (1992–1996 & 1997–2001)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 1992-1996 & 1997-2001
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
So today I got rear ended by a pickup truck, the car is in good enough shape so that I will contact my insurance and see what to do. I was able to drive it home on the freeway with no vibrations or anything. Here are some pics:

OMG!what a heck!..........good luck next time you need a lot of care for you and for your car....
And the worst part is dealing with the fact that I did nothing wrong... That's the kind damage a Ford Ranger does to a Camry. I got even more depressed when i say his car... He had very minimal damage. His freakin headlight where still intact....

But Its The Pick-up Insurance Who Will Be Paying Right?
Yeah, thank god....But I called my agent nevertheless, just to see what would happen if I did file a claim. He said that I would see no raise in premium since the police report states that it was his fault (just in case I have trouble with the other guys insurance). Luckly, ladies and gents, I have 2 way coverage and a 500$ deductible... So I will only be paying 500$ of this 3000-4000$ job...

hope ya werent attached...that thing will most likely be totaled. i had about the same damage to the excact car and it was totaled...and that was 5 years ago.
glad your ok. when i was hit it didnt feel like it looked...love these cars.
The even sadder part may be that the appraised value might be lower than the repair cost, which means they'll want to write off your ride.
As long as it isn't an "NR" non-registerable write off, you have first option of purchasing the write off and then repairing it and re-registering if you think you can. If you offer to purchase the write off you can have the purchase price ($100 or so) deducted from your write off settlement. Make sure the appraiser knows all the $$ you put into it when establishing the value on the high side and negotiate to get the money you are due back.
