3rd Generation Lowering SPRINGS

I know that sticking to brand type springs are the way to go. The only problem is that how much do they actually drop and which ones drop evenly around? I'm having a hard time trying to determine which ones to get for my 1994 camry coupe. If anybody have tried different variations please let me know. Anything helps. I dont wanna go over to full coilovers yet because the quality of the ride isn't what im looking for on those things.

This will be the Official TN Camry/Solara springs & struts summary and we take no responsibility on your opinion towards this page or the discussed products.

SPRINGS:

H&R Sport
Pros:
- Brand name
- Moderate drop
- Excellent manufacturing quality
- Progressive-rate
- Lower drop in the front than in rear
Cons:
- Slightly harsher ride than Eibachs

Eibach Pro-Kit
Pros:
- Brand name
- Moderate drop
- Excellent ride quality
- Excellent manufacturing quality
- Progressive-rate
- Lower drop in rear than in front
Cons:
- Drop might not be even (front/rear)

Intrax
Pros:
- Moderately affordable
- Slightly more drop than H&R/Eibach
Cons:
- Not as well-known compare to H&R/Eibach
- Not heat treated from the factory so "sagging" occurs after time.
- Harsher ride quality than Eibach or H&R

Sprint
Pros:
- Lowest drop
- The cheapest - approx $99USD
Cons:
- High possiblity of sagging
- Not brand name
- Not heat treated from the factory so "sagging" occurs after time. aka. "The never-ending drop"

There are other brands of performance springs for Camrys however they are not as well-reviewed as the previously discussed brands. Here are some of them:
- Dropzone
- Whiteline
- B+G
- Apex

Why do you not want to buy from them?
- Cheap = Sprint
- Lowest drop = Sprint
- Brand name = H&R/Eibach
- New brands = Dropzone & Whiteline

STRUTS

KYB GR-2
Pros:
- Cheap
- Brand name
- Make lots of OEM struts
- More OEM-like ride
- Offer sealed/non-sealed(servicable) versions

Tokico Blue
Pros:
- Brand name
- Performance-oriented company
- Stiffer ride
- Available for Gen3/4
- Available as sealed assemblies or servicable cartridges.

Koni Red
Pros:
- Brand name
- Stiffest ride
- Rebound adjustable
- Very performance-oriented company
Cons:
- Most expensive
- Non-sealed (servicable) version only - For Gen3 only

Bilstein
Pros:
- Brand name
- Stiffest ride
- Most expensive
- Strictly performance-oriented
Cons:
- Offer sealed version only - For Gen4 only
- Not recommended for street

Other companies that have application available:
Why do you not want to buy from them???
- Cheap = KYB
- For street = Tokico
- For race = Koni, Bilstein

-----------------------------------------------------------

Your other options are Eibachs 1.0" and B+G 1.6"
The Eibach drop is not really noticeable. I personally want the drop of the
B+G's (w/ 215/50/17's I should get about a 1.5 finger gap in front and 1
B+in back) but I've heard very mixed reviews on them. Everything from "identical to Eibach", "Love em to death" and "they're mushy"
I don't know if mushy is a bad thing tho. I think of stock as mushy. If
mushy in this case means softer ride and less (but still better than stock)
cornering stability... tha'd be ok by me.

I'd say the ideal size and proportion rim/tire for a gen3 is... 215/50/17 - 215/45/18 - (w/a low drop) xxx/40/18

Gap in finger width w/ 215/50/17... ( -F / R- )
Eibach 3-3.5 / 2.5-3
H&R 2.5 / 2
B+G 2-1.5 / 1.5-0.5
Intrax 1.5-1 / 0.5-tuck
Vogtland 2.5 / 2
Sprint 1 / tuck
VIS c/o adj. / adj.
JIC Majic c/o adj. / adj.

FYI - Struts and tire profile make a diff in stifness.
KYB's will be softer than Tokico's and the lower profile you go the harsher
the ride.

how low do ya want??? that right there will deterimine whether ya get a quality spring or not. with the exception of maby 2 springs...all springs that drop lower then 1.5" are not brand name and low quality.

I'm not looking for too much of a aggressive drop. 1.5 is good enough but i need it to be all the way around. just a nice even drop would be awsome and still handle good. Im gonna be running 205/50/16 to comfort the ride. Also just want it to fill in the blanks.

Thanks prnc_chrmng for giving me some details. I'll surely look into them and maybe make some phone calls.

Eibachs or H & Rs would give you a minimal drop

then youlll get a quality spring no matter which you choose. as said, eibachs and H&Rs are great quality and not a big drop. teins are also a good choice
