Which engine -- 4-banger or 6-banger (bit of a difference on the trannys)?

While you still had the tranny open, did you confirm the solenoid was operating (apply battery voltage to the solenoid & watch it actuate)?

Did reverse ever work on this tranny?

Are you still getting the P0775 after clearing the code and running a couple of trips (start, drive, shutoff engine, repeat)?

Do 1,2,3 and O/D work OK at the moment?

Yes reverse did work. 1,2,3, and o/d work fine now that replaced solenoid #2. My check engine light came on today. I'm going to see what the code is today.

So, when did reverse stop working? Was it working up until you opend the tranny to replace S2?
