my 93 lexus es300 5spd (

) is in need of some work. the shifter is very very sloppy. i mean you can put it in gear and move it side to side with no resistance. so im guessing something in my shifter is broken or loose. any ideas on how i can tighten this thing up?

I'm not sure, but Volkswagens have this problem A LOT. It is always worn out shift linkage bushings. I think the best solution, if available, are brass bushings. They won't wear out nearly as fast, but they will vibrate the shifter a lot more.

i think i'll pass on the brass ones if they're gonna do that. thanks for the help
