I initially went with the H&R+KYB GR-2 setup and I was dramatically impressed by the difference between those looks/handling - - until I got used to it. Now I'm on coilovers (sig pic from the strut/spring days).

+1 on the coilovers. Springs, struts, RSB, and FSTB are definitely good but I wish I had the co's for the adjustability like you said. Either way, I'm thoroughly content with my setup and really am surprised at how well it handles.

sorry for the delayed response. long weekend... last exams tuesday!

so I guess i'm gonna go for the springs/shocks setup. i think by the time that i would really want coilovers, i'd probably be getting another car anyways.

that being said, few more questions: IF i decide to go with the Tenzo GR2 springs, what shocks compliment those nicely overall?

IF i stick with the Tokico shocks, (assuming I want the lowest drop I can get with springs and shocks w/o the springs sagging severely over time)...am I better off to go with H&R springs or Eibach pros or...? I like '_' 's setup on his gen 4 (H&R's and tokicos I believe), but that may change based on opinions and feedback.

I have the Eibach Pro-kit with KYB GR-2 struts. Tires are 225/40/18 (pretty much identical to stock diameter but wider).

H&R or Eibach are designed much better than most aftermarket brands for our cars. Some say they've had no problems with sagging, but some say its really obvious.

Personally go with the H&R (a good percentage have) and get the Tokico's. You are less likely to run into problems. Do forget if you have to take the suspension apart again and again it costs alot of money if you are doing it yourself. Also factor in the alignment costs and it all adds up

Leaning 90% towards H&R's with the Tokicos. Anyone else have any input?

So as far as cost go after buying the shocks and springs:
-Special tools (if needed?) for self install
-New mounts???
-Alignment

Good choice. I've been running H&Rs + Tokicos on my 95 V6 XLE for a little over a year now and have been very happy with them. Gave up a little ride quality, but the handling is much improved and the drop was just right for my taste.

i had tenzo springs + stock struts on 18s on my '92 V6. it was used as a family car. wife and 2 kids(7 yr old and infant). my wife and 7yr old never complained about the ride. the baby slept most of the time. i also attacked driveways and speed bumps.
