Undecided

So i got a flowmaster 40 series put on my 97 Camry LE 4cyl. It doesn't sound too bad. They messed up the tip mounting so i have to take it back tomorrow so they can tuck it in more. But I was just looking for input on people with decently loud cars. Mine isn't terribly loud but I'm not used to it.

Do you guys get used to it or sick of it? I have my stock muffler with Chrome tip still and debating whether to put it back on or not. I paid about 170 for the flowmaster, tip and installation.

Just some .02 would help me make my decision !
THANKS !

Mine's pretty loud, it measures just under 95 decibels. I've gone through 2 Magnaflow mufflers before going cat-back and it's still kinda quiet for my tastes. But overall I'm happy with the tone and I never get tired of it.

haha wow that's a lot. Is your camry a 4cyl?

This is not my car but basically how it sounds. I got the idea for the muffler from this vid. The 2nd part with the resonator and drop in K&N is exactly what i have so it sounds identical to that.

Hey, thats my car in the vid!
I didn't like the setup before the resonator at all, it droned pretty bad and before the car reached normal operating temp it was a bit raspy. With the resonator it's pretty good though. How do you like it so far? Thanks for the compliment bird!

3rd Generation

An intake will do you the most as far as sound goes...

But you can always just go with flowmaster or magna it's all up you your own preference on sound

Haha that's awesome ! I'm starting to like it. Got the tip put back farther into my bumper so it does not look ricey or anything. Sounds good at high rpms !
I'm going to keep it for now. Starting to dig it.

Oh yeah to answer your question, it's a 4cyl. I have the 2.25" cat-back piping to the Apexi N1.

The sound is pretty good IMO for a canister muffler. I have a few clips if you're interested. As far as the kit goes, it's called the TRD lip kit (not bodykit) and comes with 7 pieces in total. I only have 6 since I'm missing the spoiler. Best bet would be to check out the for sale section as these come up every now and then. It will fit directly onto your Camry since you have the 4th gen unlike mine.
