USA Camry CE 2000: Squeaking

Hi All,
I have a Toyota Camry CE year 2000 model. For last few weeks I observe two sounds:

1. on the rear right tire whenever, I release the brakes I hear squeaking noise. This noise come infrequently that said, I hear it for few days and then it disappears and then re-appears again.

2. There is a clinking noise, like the coins coming from the front passenger side of the vehicle. It becomes prominent when the car is driving on the rough surface.

Do you have any ideas where I am headed to in terms of maintenance, repair.

I will appreciate your help.

Thanks.

1. you likely need some new brakes on your rears. Your low pad (ie. disks on rears?) squeal indicator is what you are likely hearing. Probably will cost you $200-300 for this brake work.

2. The clinking sound may be from a bad or loose strut mount, spring isolator, loose suspension component, etc. or maybe it actually IS coins clinking in your glove compartment or passenger door map box. Bring it in and have them inspect the front end on a lift, the tightness of your strut mounts under the hood, and test drive it. Could cost anywhere from $80-$200+ to fix.

Thanks for your reply and advice.

I checked the noise is not coming from the coins. As it comes very prominently when I lean outward from the window of front passenger side. I removed everything from the glove box. Today I heard it carefully, it is very audible whenever car is riding on slight rough surfaces. At one point I felt as if some bolt is loose!

Also, regarding the rear wheel squeaking. it comes only when releasing the brakes quickly it makes something like a deep breath followed by squeaking noise. Do you think its pads or could be something with lubrication. I am not sure!

What do you suggest is the best place to show it to? The one that is economic and reliable. dealer or local shop??

Waiting for your advice.

thanks again.
