New Project!!!

Hey guys!

Today I finally received in my driveway my new Camry!

It's a 92 3vz-fe with... the 5 speed tranny!!!

The car cost me 700$ because it has cosmetic damage on the passenger side fender, it was overheating, and it didn't start after the whole winter being parked outside without starting.

Here's the catch... there was a squirrel nest in the air filter box!!!

And the radiator was dry!!!

So now it starts, it runs and it smokes alot!!!

It's white smoke, and I've got milky residu in the oil so i'm gonna have to do the head gaskets. Anyways, the car is due for a new timing belt, and i'm gonna do water/oil pump at the same time. I've never done work so serious on a car, but it's not a problem, it's not my daily driver... I still got my 4 banger to get me around(especially to canadian tire!!).

I'm just so excited to finally have a V6, and not have to endure a slushbox for it. I also have the performance to support the mods I always wanted to do on a gen 3 camry!

It's my third one, so let's hope it's the Camry that beats my "Big disaster right before I finaly had the time and money to mod my favorite car" Jinx

So I finaly registered on photobucket, sorry for the delay, yesterday was a beautiful day outside and I don't have a garage so you get me!

For those who are wondering, yes it's a real dual exhaust. Ghetto rigged as you can see...



It isn't obvious in the pics but the right one doesn't even follow the heat shields, hell! it doesn't even align with the cutout in the bumper. It's all 2.5 inch piping right after the Y pipe flange, Cat is deleted. It's all going, I'm going to get a stock catback and install my N1 muffler, same one spitfire got but I never had the chance to install on the 4 banger.

By the way, what's that Y pipe I hear so much about, is it for the 3vz? Does it really help?

So next, here's the beast!


Yesterday I started disassembling it, with the help of my dad, I even got out my "victory" and "Now Learning" japanese headbands for the occasion...


So in one day we got the rad, air filter assembly, battery, Throttle Body and air plenum out. Next is the intake manifold.


And that's me again with a rag conveniently placed to block the intake opening


While the whole intake is out, I'll take the time to clean everthing and maybe even do some polishing! But the grime in there is scary, i'm definitly getting an oil catchcan, it's not going back in the intake!

So that's all, hope I get to try it out soon, I can't wait to see how fast those v6 5speed really are!!

I thought the SE's are only in a V6 5 speed, but I guess u guys in canada geta 5 speed in LE trim or is it swapped? Nice find by the way but i paid 1,700 for a descent ES300 5 speed . I like to see finished results and make that engine bay extra clean and trust me you'll feel that good amount of power and torque on the 3VZ engine.
