No power intermittently

Hi all,

I tried searching but didn't find anything quite like my problem. first my specs:

1992 camry LE 4cyl, USA. replaced alternator & battery 2.5 yrs ago. tested my battery today both disconnected (12.6v) and connected with car on (14.6v).

problem:
car turns on no problem when cold...if I need, for any reason to shut down the engine quickly, sometimes it will not run, after a couple (or sometimes as much as 15min) of minutes car will turn on and go on it's merry way with no problem. today it happened after i had been driving a good while and went to replace my car stereo. engine turned but did not turn on, after getting a boost car turned on fine...but like i said, battery/alt seem fine when I tested, also the batter/alt. light in the dash is not on, and last time i had alt trouble it did...i know it works...can it be the battery connectors? i made sure i tightened them really well after testing...let me know if you need more details for any type of Dx

Thanks,
All

Try cleaning both the battery posts and the cable terminals. They should be shinny clean. Even if this does not solve the problem, you will have eliminated one of the simple things form the equation.
