Muck on inside of windshield?

Hi. I have a 94 Camry LE 2.2 L. For some reason it seems to build-up a film on the inside on the front windshield on the drivers side. I windex this away and in a few days its back. Wondering if anyone has had experience with this issue and could offer some advice on a fix before I dive in blind. Thanks.

Try goo gone or rubbing alcohol.

I have the same problem in my 94. I think it is the dashboard breaking down from sun exposure. It seems like the build-up starting to accumulate about the same time I started noticing cracks, etc., in the dash. The dash is now visibly not an even color and looks really bad through polarized lenses.

I leave a sunshade in the window and that fixes the problem. Just one nice, hot day without it results in more than enough film to annoy me. I plan to purchase a carpet-like dash cover as well as possibly tinting the windows.

Just to clarify, my issue isn't so much cleaning it off...I can clean it off with windex. The more PIA is that the "film" comes back in a couple of days (drivers side only); my only guesses are something in the duct work or a pinhole in the heater core?

Thanks, Peter...hadn't considered the dash cover as a potential culprit.

This wouldn't explain drivers side only, unless the passenger side flow was restricted, but does it change from internal air recirculation to outside air properly. I like my 95 because the internal/external air selection is a manually controlled slide selection; whereas, my 01 is electronic and the damn thing always want to change to internal recirculation.

What kind of film? Did it get good reviews? I havent seen a good action film in a while.
Seriously, what does the stuff look like? Is it a haze? Is it white-ish? And what part of the windshield? close to the bottom? top? or all over the one side?
