93 camry window regulator hell

I have a 93 camry that the driver's front power window motor went bad. I went to my local junk yard and can only find either the passenger side ones or the driver rear. My question is ..will the drivers side rear motor and regular fit the driver side front? or do I have to find the drivers front? also how do you bring the window down when it is stuck in the up position with no access. I cannot get to the bolts that hold the window to the regulator..

I don't know for sure but, I really don't think the rear regulator would fit the front.

You can get a new front reg/motor from Ebay, and their not that expensive...Why use an old used reg/motor, thats probably going to break again soon anyways.

My passenger window on the coupe stopped working in the up position, and I planned on cutting the cables to get the window to drop, but I didn't have too....it began working again!! Weird

As I was rolling away from the drive up ATM Friday, I was closing my window when I heard and felt a loud snap and the window quit moving. The motor is working fine. After pulling everything out and inspecting the plastic guides and joints that the glass and the cable rely on for full operation, I two opted to replace the whole thing. On EBay, you can't buy a separate reglulator. It comes only with the motor, and since everything is pretty much sealed and spaced for correct operation, it really is the way to go. The cable and the plastic are not designed for adjustment or removal. Prices were from under $40 to over $100. In my case, the car is going to be sold soon, so I didn't buy Toyota OEM. Now since I opened it all up and monkeyed with the thing, none of the window or the power locks work. I have the control panel plugged in, but don't know which fuse or relay I'm looking for.

The rear will not work with the front. The bar that mounts the guide is wider and the bolts for the front window are spaced differently, hence the bigger piece of glass. Check car-part.com or your local wrecker for a replacement motor/regulator combo. Make sure to grease the guides with lithium or moly grease when you put it back together. To get the window down, you can either cut the cable or remove the bolts from the motor bracket and lower the whole thing until you can get at the bolts. Since the cable will probably look like a bird nest when you open up the door, just cut it and carefully lower the glass until the bolts are accessible. Good luck.

Check the fuse panel. Its on the drivers side behind the flip out holder. Pull that out and check the diagram for the correct fuses to check.

$130 is sounds about right for a shop quote. You can get one from the junkyard for around $60 and save some $$$ DIY. The shop will charge 1 hour labor so your around $200 all said and done there. The part from your link is for the RR window.

Eyeball96 and fixtillbroke are absolutely right. Don't get the regulator w/ motor from the junk yard. You can get a new one from ebay or am-autoparts.com for $40-60. I got an oem regulator for camry 1996, front driver side for $48 online recently.
