__my reverse light does not work i look how the auto was connected and connected it just the same cus the right up said the colors would match and they did not.
__the speedometer say the wrong speed, it use to do it with the auto and i was told it could be the sensor,i did not change it cus i knew i wanted to do the swap but i have the same issue.. its off by at least 10 mile an hour
__the OD light keeps blinking on and off like shit is possessed

____lastly when i filled the trany with out it ran out all of it on the exhaust burning and smelling did i do some thing wrong i looked at the axles and no oil on the drivers side but the passenger side has oil i cant tell if it comeing from their or not reason being is that the mid way axle is lined up and is mounted to the back of the engen block so i really dont know um so yah that all the probs i need a little help with thanks

reverse lights:

the connectors are different, so just try them both ways if the wire colors don't match. It should just basically be an on off switch so it's got to work one way or another.

Speedo:

if it's always been off, then it's time to check something else, such as your wheels/tire combo. It might have been the speedsensor before, but if a new tranny has the same problem, then it's not the speed sensor since you now have a different one with the same problem.

OD Light:

it's probably the computer telling you that the transmission seems to be missing. Double check your wiring. You should have pins connected and the resistors connected to trick your ecu into thinking the tranny is still there.

Leaking Gear Oil

Sounds like you have the common problem that a lot of us do as well. You either didn't replace your half-shaft differential seal or tore it when mating the engine and tranny back together. You really only have 3 choices now- fill your differential with lucas oil to slow down the leak, figure out how to get the half-shaft out to replace the seal, or take the tranny and engine apart again to change the seal.

If you're lucky, you may be able to get that half-shaft out. I was never able to even come close, so I never really tried. I did the lucas oil route and it slows it down to slight drips and I can live with it until I can get an excuse to part my engine and tranny again

okay the with the reverse lights i did check both ways and it was no good i don't know ill do it again today .... but yah the colors are different and the old one did not just plug into it had to cut and join them.

the speedo my wheels are stock steel lmao so i really dont know with toyota recommended tires

the od light i guess it cus of the resisters i did not put them in the only ones am able to fine are from radio shack which are 8 ohm 20watt , the only place i see one i can use are on ebay ... should i just get the ones from radio shack ???
and as far as the axle goes i was thinking just take the entire passenger side back out if that the problem i does not seem too hard i think the frame have to come back down on that side at least.

thanks for the assistance king

yeah, the reverse lights should work as long as you either just pin them or get the different plug and wire them up- I still haven't gotten around to doing mine even though adam found me a plug from the 5-speed....I just have to splice it in

also though, check the wiring for your actual lights and make sure that they're working- they usually break at the trunk. I know that mine are broken and I'll have to rewire those first before wiring my reverse lights in anyway (2 years later lol)

as for the resistors, you have to use the right resistors within the given guide range (originally posted by ratko) otherwise they won't work.

and for the axle, if you can get the mount off, that's the "easiest" way since otherwise, you'll have to hammer the half-shaft out (unless you have a new bearing and half-shaft in there that hasn't seized together yet)

and glad to see that you finally got it done!

clutch safety switch can be done at the tranny harness in the engine bay

as for the seal, yeah, it's a dealership only seal

but it's no the cost of the seal, but removing the axle to get to the seal that is the real issue. the seal is less than 10bucks.

ebay is your best friend for the resistors
