Possibly a camry owner

As the title states, I might be buying a camry. It's a 96 LE, it has 186k km or 115k miles, I'd be getting it for about $4500cdn. Not sure if this is that good of a deal or not.

What I'm really wanting to know is if there is anything I should be aware of or looking for before buying it? Any problems that are commonto these vehicles. I've tried searching on google and have come up with nothing much. Also I know very little about cars.

Thanks for all the help.

It's 4cyl auto.

Looking at book value it's probably alitle hit priced cause it has some rust as well, so I'm not too sure.

Canada Check mileage and History

This is really low mileage for that age. Make sure to check the vehicle history. Many highmileage Ontario cars endup in the prairis with much lower km. Just FYI.

3rd Generation

the most important thing you want to pay attention to is oil leaks, smoke from the exhaust (indicates head gasket leak). check the oil and make sure it's at the proper level! if you have to, test drive the car a few days in a row, and after each time, check the oil. make sure the tranny is smooth shifting as well. check the transmission fluid after the car warms up and while it's idling in park. also make sure the car doesnt jerk to one specific side, indicating an alignment problem.
