Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
i was just wondering what you fellow members would recommendation for a replacement clutch some thing that gonna last long and can endure some abuse and still last for a good amount of time for reference i have a v6 camry
OEM? Or a reputable aftermarket brands like Fidanza, Exedy or Valeo. I've heard Valeo's are pretty good and long lasting. My mate just put one in his 4A-GE corolla.
I don't remember which catalog he was looking at the speedshop, but he told me he had 3 different clutch kits...
OEM
Stage 1: 25% more power handling
Stage 3:90% more power handling
I don't remember what company it was, but he also told me they where all round clutches, no pucks here.
The higher the stage, the 'heavier' the clutch will be, making it a pain during traffic. Also, starts will not be as smooth. I'd probably go as high as a stage 1 for a stock Camry, and that's if you're dead set on getting it. Each to their own though.
if my car wasn't modified the way that it was, I would not want to deal with my stage3 spec
but since it is the way that it is, I couldn't live without it at this point :
and I'd go with an oem exedy or stage 1 exedy most likely in your case

I found myself at that same crossroads about last year....6 puck spec FTW
okay that exactly what i was looking for ... i want to teach a family member how to drive the car if need be but i did not want them to burn the clutch out so that why i was wondering and also i like to drive a bit hard some time so i want some thing that would be able to stand that abuse thanks guys
good question it does not say but i also saw this one f1 racing dont know how credible they are but it cheaper too http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/F1-RA...4506.m20.l1116 just started looking up reviews on the seems to be okay thus far
Whatever you get, don't get the OEM kit from the dealer, they are rebuilt, and they are garbage. Mine's been vibrating at the tip of the stroke since it's installed, and now after 45k,mostly highway, it just broke. Foot down, a couple of clicks, now it's chattering like crazy...
I like the Exedy on my MR2, very smooth, very easy.
