Lightbulb Auto ---> 5speed?

I'm interested in the swap.. The two transmissions are the S54(4cyl camry transmission) and the E153(V6 Camry trans). I was told that the E153 is stronger and will stand up against abuse, but i have also heard of someone building a motor up to 300whp and used S54 and it didnt give in. My question is does it really matter which route is taken..?
The motor being used is the 5SFE.. Alot of people said its not even worth being used.. The best bet is the 1MZ or even the 3SGTE... My mind set is to go all motor with the 5SFE and eventually boost...Is it worth it?
And sorry mods for the poor first attempt at a thread.

You've pretty much answered yourself.

The 5SFE is an economy engine, not meant for modding, just to provide reliable transportation from point a to point b through regular daily driving.
& even if you mod the 4 cyl like crazy, all your gonna get is something around the stock V6.
1MZFE is a better engine to mod, especially when you still have to consider it's a toyota.
Why 'waste' your money in a 4cyl block with no potential. I figure you should find a V6 Camry to purchase, unless your well prepared for the headaches of an engine swap. There just isnt any way to make the 5SFE quicker, just slap on tires and rims, RSB, and such and make up what you lost in speed with handling.

to be honest, i think your best bet would be swappin a whole V6 and e153 if ya want alot of power. but a 5sfe with s54 is still a fun car to drive.

however, the easiest thing would be jsut finding a V6 manual or a 4cyl manual if ya have the money to get one.

BTW... the S54 is for the MR2(relocated shifting levers)

And yes a 5speed 4banger is a lot of fun! It's been said to be equivalent to an auto v6.

Whereas the 5speed v6 is the equivalent of an 5 speed 4 with aftermarket turbo...

Your in the states so a 5speed 4banger would be easy to find(well easier than canada!), and you save on the insurance and gas cause it isn't v6. Like BigBird said, lot's of fun! If you learn how to use the torque produced by the 5s, you can also surprise the dudes with civics and custom pipes!!

Has anyone done the swap yet? What I really want to know what fabrication is needed to make this work.? I have been told I'm going to need (master cylinder, clutch pedal assembly, brake pedal, shifter assembly, shifter cables, clutch lines, and of course your manual transmission and slave cylinder, and a new clutch kit). How much of this do I really need?
