passenger side axle shaft install on 5sfe

got my axle shaft in, but i am having a hell of a time trying to put back the snap ring that fits around the bearing. i have tried using some needle nose pliers, but i don't think mine are long enough. any recommendations on what kind of tool to use (longer needle nose?) or any tricks to make this task easier such as the best position of the snap ring to start when putting it in?

doing axles is so much fun...... taking them off, putting them in, c-clips on both sides, and wrestling with the lower ball joints.

Haynes suggests needle nose plier. But usually you don't need to remove the intermediate shaft?

I used a long pair of hemostats (surgical clamps). More importantly, ensure that the shaft is in all the way and you can see/feel a place for the snap ring to go. I had trouble with this at first before I realized the shaft was not in all the way. Once this was corrected, I could see/feel the slot it was supposed to snap into and it WAS a "snap".
