Brake problem, easy diagnosis?
Hey guys.
Since I bought my car, the ABS light has been on. The car also makes a grinding kinda sound when you brake, and there is pulsation/feedback in the pedal. The best way to explain it is like a one second interval in braking. It feels kinda similar to a bent rim on a bike tire when you're braking. I suspect a warped rotor, but I can't really tell- the last time the tires in the front were off, was when I was getting new ones. I couldn't really see any warping, but again, my eye isn't trained to see that kinda thing. My dad tells me it's the ABS. When I took the car to the mechanic, he determined the ABS speed sensor, I think, in the passengers-side front tire was the faulty sensor, causing the ABS light to come on, but I don't recall speaking with him about the grinding.
The vibration/grinding is okay for a little while, such as after a night of sitting. I can drive it off, and the brakes feel fine for a bit, but then the more I drive/hotter it gets, the grinding sound and pulsation becomes more substantial. Any ideas/tips/quick fixes? It's a 1993 LE 4 Cyl.
