Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
Hi, does anyone know where i can find a hid conversion kit for a 99 Camry, I would like something higher then 8000k. Possibly the 10000k or 12000k kit. Thanks!
Try ddmtuning.com or sharphid (this place gets it from DDM), the prices are very good and many people have spoken well of them. But dude--don't get the homo purple 12000K temps. The output is worse than halogens and when rain hits--say goodbye to any usable light you have. Go 4300K or even 5000K, nothing more. This is a Camry--we don't have to show off no cool purple barney luxury lights.
Basically, the closer the light gets to really deep blue into purple, the amount of usable light will decrease pretty quickly, especially in the rain. Usable light seems to peak somewheres are 5k or 6k it seems.
Oh and deep blue/purple looking frickin retard

Relay is VERY important. Your stock headlight wiring should have relays built it, but the HID relay will pull current directly from the battery rather than your car's wiring. The headlight switch will only act as a trigger for the system rather than the source of power. This will drop your risk if frying your car's wiring to near 0. Like you said, there is a startup surge in current, and the relay acts as a protection in a way. The vendor will tell you that you don't need it, but it's really worth it. In my mind, changing a relay is easier than changing stock wiring! I purchased a kit from crucialracing.com about 5 days before modexpress had a sale. I like crucial's kit and customer service, very nice guy and made sure I had the kit on right after the sale.
