94 camry V6 reliability question

HI,

A 1994 Camry LE V6 w/ 99,185 km on the odometer for sale for $2,500CAD (special price for me).

It belongs to any elderly women who lives down the street. I sometimes help her around the house and her husband recently died so she's wanna sell it, so she asked if i need a car and she would give it to me for a special price since she's not able to drive anymore. The car is almost spotless of rust, very very little in rusting (super minor) from regular wear and tear and Canadian winter. these rust is underneath on bolts and things.

The Car is literally show room condition, the car paint still shines all around top to bottom like it just came out of the dealership. She said it was driven to get groceries once a week or visiting her son two cities away every once in a while.

She said the car is currently up to date with e-test and everything, So I was wondering how reliable is this car?

I am hoping maybe keeping this as a summer car and my corolla is worst condition of rust underneath where normally all corolla rust at the same spot. My corolla is currently at 196 223km on the odometer.

So ideas towards the car is appreciated.

Thanks,
Chris

Only thing it will need, if never done, is a timing belt. I'd propbably do it to to age. But it;s not liek it;s needed asap. That price is a STEAL!

Check for seepage around the head gasket area. The 1MZ should be better than the 3VZ in this area. Might have a bit of engine varnish from short trips. Otherwise change the oil, drop the transmission pan, put in a new strainer and wipe things clean. If have records of prior maintenance should be a good buy.

Right, do the timing belt, oil seals, water pump, drive belts and a new valve cover gasket set.

I'd replace parts like the following (older prices from www.rockauto.com)
GATES TCK257 timing component kit $89.79
FEL-PRO TCS45890 crank seal $6.27
FEL-PRO TCS45889 cam seal set $8.55
GATES K060410 Alt/AC belt $13.09
GATES K040345 PS belt $8.61
AISIN Part # 1610029085 water pump $61.79
Total ~$188 + shipping

If needed: FEL-PRO VS50471R valve cover set (with spark plug tube
seals) $30.79
