A/C light blinking but blowing cold

Here it goes again, my a/c is giving me issues again...just came back from a 300+ trip and halfway into it I pull off the highway and the light starts blinking. This compressor is re-built and bought it last fall.

Anway, even though the light came on I turned a/c off...then it got too hot and I turned it back on and it continued to work. For the next 150 or so miles it continued to work. Then, it blinked again, hot air came out, turned it off and it worked again. At one point though when I was pulling into parking lot seemed like the car was loosing power.

Air still blows out cold, but this light only comes on the first few seconds I turn my a/c on high (a/c, not the blower), and no cold air. then I have to shut it off to 'reset' it and it works again. I read something about speed sensor needing to be changed?

What do you think? And why did the car seem to be losing power a couple of times when I went to park with the a/c on?

nevermind, I found it...just the wires connecting from the alternator to compressor were being burnt by the compressor spinning against it. Must have caused a temporary overload or something, once I tied it away from no issue, but may have to change those soon. Electric tape works fine for now right?
