Alright, so i live in New Jersey and anyone who lives here knows that its a real pain in the ass to have dark window tinting because of the state law. I want 20% all around but it might be to dark for the driver and front passenger window. Would 35% on the driver and front passenger windows and 20% on the back 3 windows look stupid or no?
i bought a car tha thad 35% back and nothing on the fronts and it did look weird. personally id do a % that you can do uniformly around the car or nothing at all.
Not bad. Also depends on your interior, if it is light, 35 will look light. 20 is good. But this is OK in daylight, night time, the popo sees dark....wang-wang-wang....
Up here it's very subjective. If I get stopped I always have the window down when they come to the car so there's no issue. I always go 5% and 20% for the front doors. Works for me, but then again I'm quite light sensitive
There are also different shades available. We tinted my wife's 09 Forester with a shade called "onyx", very dark looking from outside but inside you can see very well. We did 35% front 20% all others including w/s banner. To be honest, from the outside you can barely tell the difference. The tint guy did such a good job it looks like privacy glass.

european cars are just like japanese cars, just heavier and more expensive.
7 ASE's.
it's all on the officer. i had 4% all around and never got pulled over even with cop right next to me. yet in my other car, i have 20% on the front windows and got cited.
Was in Los Angeles the other day and saw motorcycle cops sittin on the gas station and every car they saw with tint, light or not or even just the rear windows (which is legal) and nothin at the front, Pulling every one of them and giving tickets. guess they pulled around a hundred that day alone. They stay on the crossroad stop light. From the looks of it, imagine a fishnet on the ocean. Arrggghh State fund.

15% all around and I have the front windshield strip tinted. Only been pulled over once and that was in a cop infested area (too many cops, not enough $hit for them to do so they bs).
Not a fix-it ticket but it was $80 which isn't much compared to other cities around here.
