3rd & 4th Generation (1992–1996 & 1997–2001)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 1992-1996 & 1997-2001
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
sup ya'll so i have a 98 Camry, i did the gen 4.5 headlight facelift when i painted my car using the gen 4 bumper, I had to do some body work to get the lights to fit flush. It turned out very good IMO, however back in February during an arctic Chicago winter day, my dad cracked my front bumper on a pile of snow .
It took awhile to get to it, but i finally bought another bumper to replace it. However, this time i used the the gen 4.5 bumper, tho i prefer the gen 4 bumper, so i didnt have to do as much body work to get the lights to fit, all i had to do is trim the gen 4 absorber to get it to fit.
I need some suggestions/opinions on fog lights, i'm not sure if i should get round ones or rectangular ones. Hit me up your suggestions (pics too) of what ya'll think. If you wanna do a lil photochoppin, feel free to do so This is a pic of my Camry after i painted it and did the first facelift, ill take pics of what i have now tomorrow

yea that Gracia bumper does real real tight n like the seamless look of it, but i already bough the other bumper...n i dont want to spend $300+ on a Camry bumper :/, i just got the new one with grill for $55 brand new.
Just posted up the new bumper mounted, ill probably prep n paint it sometime this coming week.

if it were me, id get somthing longer and a little taller, thoes will look very non-oem. also, i would either try to get yellow tinted lense fogs or clear lense with yellow bulbs.
I had smaller oval fogs with nice light out put.. took them off though because water got into one and messed up the reflecter.
the lense was blue and i did not like that. Decided to night shade them with two coats and they look awesome and cannot see them. Still debating whether to buy new ones and night shade them or go fogless till i find something i really like !

always got wide eyed when i saw your car Big Bird, shame you had to let it go. do you remember what brand those fogs of yours were? I want something simple like that. I was actually thinking n wondering about buying some factory 5th gen fogs, n modding the bumper so i can get them to fit, however, i dont think the shape of that fog would contour our bumper contours very well, do you know if they have similar contours?

I would think that the nightshade would really affect the light output of the fogs, wouldn't it? I mean if you would like to hide em, i would either tuck them a bit more into the bumper , or see if you can fabricate some covers, paint em black, n to place on top of the fog lights when you're not using them. Even wrap some black socks or some fabric slip cover over them so you don't see them. It sounds dumb, but i guarantee you no one would notice they fabric. I know it a bit of an inconvenience to have to place it n remove em, but at least your light output wouldn't be affected. Thas just me tho, I always want full functionality of something i add to a car.

Yea I'm probably gonna swing by different auto parts stores, n check out some fogs, i want to make the hole for the fogs before i paint the bumper, I was also looking at those projector fogs on ebay, my friend installed them on his 91 civic hatchback n they put out crazy light, what do you think?
